SUMMARY:Big 5 Orienteering Week – Cradle of Humankind
DESCRIPTION:Learners and teachers from schools in the Moutse Central Circuit\, including Ramatsetse Primary School\, Batau Primary School\, Moteti Primary School\, Tadimane High School\, and Thejane High School\, were invited and sponsored by the South African Orienteering Federation to attend the international Big 5 Orienteering Week held at the Cradle of Humankind in Gauteng. \nThe event took place from 29 December 2025 to 3 January 2026 and brought together orienteers from South Africa and several other countries\, providing learners with exposure to an international competitive environment. \nParticipants took part in multi-day map-reading and navigation challenges that developed problem-solving\, teamwork\, and physical endurance. The programme concluded with excellent results\, where learners and one teacher achieved podium finishes in second and third place.
