SUMMARY:Big 5 Orienteering Week – Cradle of Humankind
DESCRIPTION:Learners and teachers from schools in the Moutse Central Circuit\, including Ramatsetse Primary School\, Batau Primary School\, Moteti Primary School\, Tadimane High School\, and Thejane High School\, were invited and sponsored by the South African Orienteering Federation to attend the international Big 5 Orienteering Week held at the Cradle of Humankind in Gauteng. \nThe event took place from 29 December 2025 to 3 January 2026 and brought together orienteers from South Africa and several other countries\, providing learners with exposure to an international competitive environment. \nParticipants took part in multi-day map-reading and navigation challenges that developed problem-solving\, teamwork\, and physical endurance. The programme concluded with excellent results\, where learners and one teacher achieved podium finishes in second and third place.

SUMMARY:Orienteering Schools League Final – Rahlagane Primary School
DESCRIPTION:The final leg of the Annual Orienteering Schools League took place on 10 May 2025 at Rahlagane Primary School. Organised by the South African Orienteering Federation (SAOF) and Polokwane Orienteering Club (POC)\, the event brought together learners and educators from schools in the Moutse Circuit. \nThe goal of the league is to introduce orienteering to learners and help train them for future competitions. Each school was represented by a group of learners\, an educator\, and the school principal. The event featured a cross-country navigation course that challenged participants to use specially designed maps to locate checkpoints using only their navigation skills. \nThe day ended with an award ceremony\, recognising top performers from both Primary and High School categories.
