SUMMARY:Big 5 Orienteering Week – Cradle of Humankind
DESCRIPTION:Learners and teachers from schools in the Moutse Central Circuit\, including Ramatsetse Primary School\, Batau Primary School\, Moteti Primary School\, Tadimane High School\, and Thejane High School\, were invited and sponsored by the South African Orienteering Federation to attend the international Big 5 Orienteering Week held at the Cradle of Humankind in Gauteng. \nThe event took place from 29 December 2025 to 3 January 2026 and brought together orienteers from South Africa and several other countries\, providing learners with exposure to an international competitive environment. \nParticipants took part in multi-day map-reading and navigation challenges that developed problem-solving\, teamwork\, and physical endurance. The programme concluded with excellent results\, where learners and one teacher achieved podium finishes in second and third place.

SUMMARY:Orienteering Introduction – Moutse Eastern School Circuit
DESCRIPTION:Polokwane Orienteering Club\, in partnership with Endeavour Community Development Centre\, hosted an Orienteering Introduction session at the Moutse Eastern School Circuit on 11 February 2026. \nThe event took place at Tlou-Kwena Intermediate School in Elandsdoring and aimed to introduce learners to the fundamentals of orienteering\, including map-reading\, navigation skills\, and strategic thinking. \nLearners were given practical exposure to the sport\, encouraging teamwork\, problem-solving\, and physical activity. The session formed part of ongoing efforts to promote orienteering development within schools in the Moutse region.

SUMMARY:Moutse Orienteering School League – First Leg at Tadimane High School
DESCRIPTION:The first leg of the Moutse Orienteering School League was held on 11 March 2026 at Tadimane High School. \nLearners from schools in both the Moutse Central and Moutse Eastern Circuits participated in the event\, coming together to compete and develop their orienteering skills. \nThe league provides learners with practical experience in map-reading\, navigation\, and problem-solving\, while also encouraging teamwork\, physical activity\, and healthy competition. This first leg marked the beginning of an exciting series of events aimed at growing orienteering within schools in the Moutse region.
